Summary: GM

Objective: Poor social skills are a risk factor for becoming victims of bullying, which may explain why this happens frequently with children with autism spectrum disorders ( TSA) and the deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). low social skills tended to coexist with clumsiness. According to a pilot study, poor performance in physical education (PE) were correlated with being a victim of harassment.

Method: Sixty-nine healthy students make the connection between their performance in physical education and harassment during their enfance.En addition, participants answered questionnaires for ADHD and ASD to assess personality traits associated with an increased risk of being harassed.

Results: performance below average in physical education was a risk factor of being bullied at school with an odds ratio of 3.6 [confidence interval 95%: 01.23 to 10.05, p = 0.017]. Strong correlations between on the one hand, poor performance EPS and duration of harassment (p = 0.007) and on the other hand, a poor performance in EPS and the high frequency of bullying (p = 0.008) were found.
autistic traits were associated with a performance below average EPS.

Conclusion: A poorly developed motor skills is a major risk factor for becoming a victim of bullying. Prevention programs that identify, protect and potentiate the clumsy children could be an important step to prevent bullying of children most vulnerable.
